Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu appointed Rear Admiral Denis Berezovsky as the Russian Black Sea Fleet Deputy Commander during his working trip to Crimea.

The Russian defense minister handed over the personal number of a Russian serviceman to Berezovsky.

The rear admiral is a former commander of the Ukrainian Navy who took
the oath of allegiance to the Crimean people on March 2. The Kyiv
authorities relieved him of the commander duties and the Ukrainian
prosecutor’s office started an inquiry into his activity.
