Militants completely observed the silence regime in the military operation zone from noon until 6.00 p.m. on Oct. 1, the Kyiv press center of the military operation said.

“No cases of opening fire were reported in the temporarily occupied territory of Donbas either,” the press center said in a statement on its Facebook page on Oct. 1 evening.

It was reported that the lull along the dividing line gives hope for the implementation of one of the key conditions of the Minsk accords – the full end to the gunfire by the warring parties for at least two days.

After this, on the order of Chief of the General Staff – Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Ukrainian armed forces will begin a scheduled and gradual pullback of weapons under 100mm in caliber from the dividing line. On Oct. 1, the Ukrainian military are conducting preparatory works to redeploy weapons and military hardware, the statement said.

Earlier on Thursday, leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko accused the Ukrainian side of violating the agreements on the withdrawal of weapons in Donbas, announcing the suspension of this process by militants.
