Single tax payers in January-June 2013 paid Hr 3.1 billion to the national budget, which is 1.6 times up on last year.

According to the press service of the Income and Tax Ministry of Ukraine, a large part of these funds were paid by individual entrepreneurs. The budget received almost Hr 2.4 billion in single tax from private entrepreneurs, Hr 790.2 million from legal entities paying single tax.

According to statistics from the ministry, at present almost 1.4 million taxpayers operate under the system of simplified taxation. Compared to the corresponding period last year, their number increased by 100,000 people.

The ministry noted that in 2013 the single tax rate for the fifth group of taxpayers was reduced from 10 percent and 7 percent to 7 percent and 5 percent respectively, while the ministry introduced reporting once a year instead of quarterly reports for the second group of taxpayers.

Single tax payers also have the possibility of applying for a transfer to the simplified taxation system in electronic form. They also can of their own volition change their group or tax rate within the year.

“Entrepreneurs will be able to keep a book of income and expenses in electronic form soon. Having an electronic key, taxpayers will be able to automatically fill in tax reports on the base of the income book and send them to the tax authorities via the Internet,” reads a statement.
