The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said that the situation around Ilovaisk should not be dramatized.
“Nobody is saying that the situation is easy there, but we should not dramatize the situation. As soon as there is an opportunity, and we are looking for it, the guys will certainly get everything they need, including reinforcements,” NSDC information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said in Kyiv on Aug. 29.
He said that reinforcements had earlier been sent to the area. He also noted that an information campaign around Ilovaisk “could have intentionally been fuelled by our enemy, and it was sincerely picked up by our people, because the situation is really difficult there.”
“But it’s not difficult only near Ilovaisk, as there a lot of other areas where the situation is difficult. Therefore, the question is why Ilovaisk was the focus of information warfare. We are studying this issue,” he said.
