You're reading: Situation in Luhansk remains critical

The situation in Luhansk remains unchanged as of Aug. 27: the attacks on the city continue, the city residents have been without light and water for 25 days, and mobile and landline communications are not working, the press service for the Luhansk city council has reported.

Exploding shells and mines are causing further destruction and fires.

According to city residents, people leave their residences primarily in the morning and in the afternoon to buy food and water.

The city has problems with water shortages, and food, medications and fuel are not being supplied to the city. Only the most essential goods are available in shops. The city’s residents have not been able to get their wages, pensions and social payments for a long time, the city council said.
