Ukrainian border guards have registered the fact that Russian helicopters crossed the Ukrainian air border in the area where the anti-terrorist operation is taking place in eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council said.

“Our border guards registered six Russian helicopters flying 4 km into Ukraine near the settlement of Illienkove, which returned later,” National Security and Defense Council informational center representative Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday, July 10.

After border guards checked the area, they found mortar positions and military ammunition items, he said.
