Ukrainian troops have fully encircled Sloviansk and are moving inside the city, the Donetsk region's separatists headquarters told Interfax-Ukraine, adding that some people have been hurt in the fighting.

“The troops are increasingly moving inside the city, the self-defense
forces are doing everything to hold their ground, but they are having
to retreat. The fighting now continues in Sloviansk. There is
information that 12-15 people have been injured,” the source said.

The city is closed to all kinds of transport, the source said. Trains
that are passing by Sloviansk are running behind by four and more
hours. There is information that the city is closed to transport,” the
headquarters said.

In the meantime, Sloviansk is experiencing problems with mobile
communication. The mobile phones of the leaders of the separatists
forces and Sloviansk “people’s mayor” Viacheslav Ponomaryov are out of
the coverage zone.
