The Ministry of Social Policy is monitoring the situation with the payment of wages to the employees of troubled airline AeroSvit (Kyiv), the press service of the ministry has said, with reference to minister Natalia Korolevska.

“The Social Policy Ministry will monitor the situation with wage payments at AeroSvit. Under my order, an inspector from the State Labor Inspectorate has been working at the company for several weeks, therefore I will learn about the situation directly,” she said.

According to her, if violations of the employees’ rights are discovered, the materials will be sent to law enforcement authorities for the appropriate operational response.

Korolevska noted that financial difficulties that sometimes arise at enterprises should not be the reason for infringing the rights of workers, in particular this concerns the payment of wages.

“The situation with AeroSvit is not an exception. Regardless of ongoing legal proceedings against the company, all employees should get wages on time and in full,” she said.

As reported, the Kyiv Economic Court of Appeals on February 5, 2013 cancelled a decision of the Economic Court of Kyiv region to institute proceedings on the bankruptcy of PJSC AeroSvit (Kyiv). Thus, the appeal of the Boryspil joint state tax inspectorate on preventing the unjustified liquidation of the taxpayer was partially satisfied.
