Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is to make a visit to Lviv on October 28.

According to a source from Lviv Regional State Administration, the head of state is planning to visit Lviv Bus Plant (LAZ) and the construction side of the city’s stadium.

At the same time, representatives of the Dictatorship Resistance Committee said they were planning to stage several protests during the president’s visit to Lviv.

"We know that the president of Ukraine will visit Lviv tomorrow and we want to meet him and ask him several questions. In particular, why has life not improved and why can’t Lviv residents receive invitations to the opening ceremony at the stadium, while the authorities are planning to bring residents from regions that support Yanukovych," coordinator of the committee Andriy Mysyk said at a press conference on Thursday.

According to him, oppositionists will stage protests near the places Yanukovych is planning to visit. In particular, at 1100 the opposition deputies will meet with their voters near the buildings of Lviv Bus Plant.

"We invite all Lviv residents to join tomorrow at 1100 the action ‘Let’s Show Yanukovych the Red Card!’" he said, and added that the committee has applied for permission to hold the event.

According to Mysyk, the Dictatorship Resistance Committee is holding talks with football fans to involve them in the protests. He also said that Lviv businessmen had been forced to buy tickets to the official opening of the stadium.

"A businessman anonymously told me that he was invited to a very respected organization and asked to buy 400 tickets for the opening of the stadium. Later the businessman did not receive the tickets, as they did not give them to him. The same organization told him that they know who would receive the tickets and he only had to pay for them," Mysyk said.

At the same time, Head of the Euro 2012 Department of Lviv City Council Oleh Zasadny said that 20,000 residents from Lviv and the region would attend the opening ceremony at the Lviv Arena stadium. According to the official, officials and residents of other regions were also invited to the event.

Zasadny added that 1,500 people work at the construction site today.

The stadium seats 34,000 people.
