The charges brought against a group of people allegedly involved in a spy scandal in the U.S. concern export control matters and are associated with businessmen, U.S. Acting Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Rose Gottemoeller said in an interview with Interfax on Thursday.

According to Russian Consul General in Houston, four out of eight detained people are Russians, others are citizens of Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
