About 30,000 Russian soldiers have currently been deployed in Crimea, the State Border Service of Ukraine has reported.

“About 30,000 servicemen of the Russian Federation have currently been involved according to preliminary figures,” the director of the personnel department at the State Border Service, Colonel-General Mykhailo Koval, said at a press conference on Friday.

He did not say how many Ukrainian troops were now in Crimea, noting that these were all units of border troops, as well as the Ukrainian Armed Forces stationed in Crimea.
