BERLIN - The international community must prevent a possible escalation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said on April 15.

“The situation remains very fragile, so it is important to prevent a conflict escalation,” he told a press conference in Lubeck after talks between G7 foreign ministers.

The situation in the conflict zone has worsened over the past week which saw a rise in instances of truce violation, the minister said.
