The Supreme Council of the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic" (DPR) has approved Ihor Strelkov as the head of the DPR Security Council and Defense Minister, DPR government co-chairman Myroslav Rudenko told Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.

“The Supreme Council today held a session to form the DPR Security
Council. Ihor Strelkov has become the head of the Security Council and
the Defense Minister. Earlier, Strelkov was proclaimed as the
commander-in-chief of the DPR armed forces,” Rudenko said.

In addition, the Supreme Council has approved the head of the DPR
Security Service and the Interior Minister. The DPR Prime Minister and
Chairman of the Supreme Council Presidium will be appointed later.

Concurrently, the republic’s Supreme Council discussed an
anti-corruption act, Rudenko said. “Anti-corruption measures will be
taken up by the state monitoring committee,” Rudenko said.
