Lviv Regional Council deputies representing the Svoboda Party have demanded that the council hold an extraordinary session in connection with an incident on May 9, the party's press service reported on Tuesday.

While explaining this initiative, the deputies said that they "place the responsibility for the self-will and provocations of pro-Russian extremists in Lviv on Mykhailo Tsymbaliuk."

Lviv Regional Governor Mykhailo Tsymbaliuk has already tendered his resignation, his spokeswoman Roksolana Sheiko told Interfax-Ukraine.
