The National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine at the request of lawmaker Ihor Miroshnychenko and Oleksandr Myrny (Svoboda faction) at a meeting on Aug. 7 decided to hold unscheduled checks on the National Television Company of Ukraine with respect to two of its licenses.

According to the press service of the National TV Council, with
reference to the opinion of Miroshnychenko and Myrny, the National
Television Company of Ukraine in accordance with the license for
satellite broadcasting (the Euronews logo) is not observing the program
concept in terms of its own programs, which has the signs of violating
the law of Ukraine on television and radio broadcasting.

The monitoring of the National TV Council dated June 20 fixed the
share of own programs at 12 minutes per day, whereas according to the
license there should be 30 minutes.

At the same time, these lawmaker appealed to the National TV Council
regarding the audit of legal grounds for broadcasting the programs
“Public Television” and “Shuster Live” at First National Channel, as, in
their view, there is the evidence of the company’s violating Part 5 of
Article 43 of the law on television and radio (the licensee has no right
to sublease the channel of broadcasting to other organizations).
