You're reading: Svoboda reports destruction of Lenin statue in Odesa

Odesa - One more statue of Lenin has been destroyed in Odesa, the local branch of the Svovoda All-Ukrainian Union has reported.

“Local patriots” broke the head of the statue near the gates of the Odesa car works, the regional organization’s press service said. The statue was set up on Ataman Chepiha Street in 1957, it said.

The press service earlier reported that a statue of Lenin had been destroyed in the own of Tairove outside Odesa, and that a bronze bust of WW II military commander Georgy Zhukov went missing on a street bearing his name.
