You're reading: Switzerland does not intend to join EU sanctions against Russia

Switzerland does not currently plan to follow the example of the European Union and adopt sanctions against Russia, Swiss Ambassador to Russia Pierre Helg told Interfax.

Helg said Switzerland currently has a government decision made in the spring, which states that Switzerland, being a neutral country, will not follow sanctions, but at the same time will not allow the use of its territory for by-passing by people who fall under sanctions lists. He said no sanctions against Russia and Russian people are currently being adopted by Switzerland.
