You're reading: Tabachnyk to attend meeting on European Higher Education Area in Strasbourg

Minister of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine Dmytro Tabachnyk will take part in a meeting of education ministers dedicated to the implementation of the European Higher Education Area project in Strasbourg on Nov. 22-23. 

At the meeting, education ministers of Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Russia are expected to discuss the development of higher education, and the issue of the compatibility of the national education systems and certificates with the European ones, the press service of the Ukrainian Education Ministry reported.

A round table meeting involving higher education experts will also be held. As a result of a meeting organized by the Council of Europe, the ministers are expected to adopt a declaration.

The European Higher Education Area (EHEA) project was launched in the frames of the Bologna Process during the Budapest-Vienna Ministerial Conference in March 2010.

The main objective of the EHEA is to ensure there are more comparable, compatible and coherent systems of higher education in Europe.
