The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) welcomes Ukraine's participation in the CIS, Chairman of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi has said.
"We are very pleased with Ukraine’s intention to participate in the CIS in the full format, as well as the ideas that are being presented for future by the Ukrainian delegation and the Ukrainian government," he said after a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in Kyiv on Friday.
He said that the government of Tajikistan had developed a strategy for the further development of the CIS and that it was filled with new ideas and a new vision of the organization’s functioning.
