The State Duma has confirmed that its Speaker Sergei Naryshkin held telephone talks with Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov.
“The contact did take place but the negotiations are of a confidential nature,” Naryshkin’s press secretary Yevgeniya Chugunova told reporters on Tuesday.
Reporters learnt of these talks earlier on Tuesday from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
