German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande will build their negotiating position in the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on twelve provisions of the Minsk agreement which was signed in September 2014 in the capital of Belarus.

After the negotiations with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the leaders of Germany and France are planning to visit Moscow on Friday to discuss with Putin the situation in Ukraine in connection with the escalation of the conflict in Donbas, the website of the Federal Chancellor reported on Thursday evening.

“The negotiations will be based on 12 clauses of Minsk agreements signed in September 2014,” the message reads.

The report said that a military solution to the conflict is not an option.
