The Georgian Foreign Ministry has condemned the violence in Kyiv.

“We condemn the use of force and are extremely worried about the
events that happened in Kyiv on Feb. 18, which have led to numerous
casualties,” the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

It expressed its condolences to the families and loved ones of the dead, among whom it said there was a Georgian citizen.

“The processes that we are following with concern are absolutely
incompatible with democracy, human rights, and European values,” it
said.

The Foreign Ministry joined the international community’s calls on
the parties to resume dialogue to prevent the situation from growing
into full-scale civil confrontation.

“Any government should respect its people’s choice and respect the
freedom of expression. We once again express our solidarity with the
Ukrainian people at this extremely hard moment for Ukraine and believe
that a peaceful dialogue is the only way to overcome the current
political crisis,” the ministry said.
