A 17-year-old resident of western Ukraine has been detained on suspicion of firing shots in Simferopol on Wednesday, which killed two people, First Deputy Prime Minister of the self-declared Republic of Crimea Rustam Temirgaliyev said. 

“There is preliminary information on the shooter’s detention. He turned out to be a 17-year-old resident of western Ukraine,” Temirgaliyev said on March 20.

Investigators have yet to determine all circumstances of the crime, including whether or not the young man had accomplices, he said.
