The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) has strongly urged the international community, including NATO, the UN, the G7 and the EU, to immediately respond to the sending of Russian troops into Ukraine, the UWC's press service has reported.

The report notes that the congress asks for the provision of Ukraine with military and technical aid, the freezing of Russia’s assets, and the stopping of Russia’s banking transactions in the G7 countries and EU member countries until Russia removes its troops from Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian World Congress calls upon the international community to concretely help Ukraine defend its territorial integrity. Only the immediate intervention by the international community can stop the brazen threat by Russia to peace and stability in Europe,” UWC President Eugene Czolij said.

The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is the international coordinating body for Ukrainian communities in the diaspora representing the interests of over 20 million Ukrainians. The UWC has member organizations in 33 countries and ties with Ukrainians in 14 additional countries. Founded in 1967, the UWC was recognized in 2003 by the United Nations Economic and Social Council as a non-governmental organization (NGO) with special consultative status.
