DONETSK - The remains of three Ukrainian military personnel were found in the territory of Donetsk airport on May 22, Lilia Radionova, an official with the DPR committee on POWs, has said.

“Three graves with the bodies of three Ukrainian military personnel have been unearthed today. There may have been a fourth body, too, we can’t currently identify where the extremity belongs,” she said.

The retrieval of the bodies of Ukrainian military personnel began in Donetsk airport in the presence of the OSCE mission and Red Cross officials earlier on May 22.

The DPR authorities said they intend to hand over to Ukraine the bodies of the military personnel killed in Donetsk airport.

Radionova said the search for bodies is also being conducted in Debaltseve, Amvrosiyevka and Ilovaysk.

The DPR has handed over to Ukraine eighty bodies and has received the bodies of 15 militiamen in return since February 2015.

“Since my official appointment in February, we have handed over to Ukraine eighty bodies and they have given us the bodies of 15 militiamen,” Radionova said.
