Three citizens of the Netherlands and one citizen of Kazakhstan have tried to illegally enter the Chornobyl zone by car, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's department for the Kyiv region reported on Tuesday.

“The police stopped a Volkswagen Golf with a foreign license plate
near the village of Terekh, Kyiv region, on the border of the 30 km
Chornobyl exclusion zone during a walking patrol. The car tried to
illegally enter the territory, damaging the fence,” the report says.

“The law enforcement officers told the people, using a translator,
that Ukrainian legislation prohibits people from crossing the Chornobyl
exclusion zone, adding that the young people seriously risked their
health and life by violating the law,” the police said.

An investigation is underway.
