Lviv – The worldwide hotel chains Sheraton, Marriott and Hyatt are in talks on the construction of their hotels in Lviv, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy has said.

“Three global chains are in talks through their partners on the
construction of their hotels in Lviv. The matter concerns the Sheraton,
Marriott and Hyatt chains,” he said at a press conference in Lviv on
Monday.

At the same time, the mayor said representatives of these chains say
one of the requirement for this is the allocation of land plots in Lviv
downtown, which is problematic for the city.

According to Sadovy, the construction of a hotel in Fedorova Street
was frozen in connection with archaeological finds, and the firm, which
wants to construct a hotel in Nalyvaiko Street, has not provided the
city authorities with certain urban planning documents.

The mayor named a land plot in Mitskevycha Square, where a building
collapsed 20 years ago, promising. At the same time, Sadovy stressed
that “legal debates” are being held concerning the site, but, in his
opinion, it is possible to construct a hotel with 130 rooms there.
