 Kyiv, May 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Three people were killed and about 40 were injured in a fire at a hostel in Kharkiv early on Monday, the Objectiv media group has reported.

 The fire broke out on the third floor of the building at 33 Timurovtsev Street. Firefighters were informed about the emergency situation at 0613 – by that time the fire freely spread for about two hours.

An assistant to the head of the regional office of the State Service for Emergency Situations, Ihor Lupandin, said that rescuers had evacuated 106 people from the building. Firefighters rescued 41 people from the epicenter of the blaze, but three of them – two middle-aged women and a 23-year-old man – died in an ambulance. Ten people were hospitalized, and six of them, including four children, are in a serious condition. One of the rescuers was also hospitalized.
