Three people die after small plane crashes in Ukraune

Officials in Ukraine say a small border guard plane has crashed in the country's west, killing three people on board.

The Emergency Situations Ministry said in a statement Thursday that the plane, a Diamond DA-42, was on a mission over a mountainous area at Ukraine's western border when it crashed Wednesday.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.

The ministry said that a rescue operation at the scene of the crash is continuing.
