Moscow - Six sailors of the service vessel Armada Tuah 101, among them Russian subject Andrei Novikov, captured by pirates off the Nigerian coast in February, are free, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday.

“According to a report from a representative of the Nigerian branch of Bumi Armada Navigation confirmed by the company’s Malaysian office, six crewmembers from the tugboat Armada Tuah 101 captured in a pirate attack on February 17 off the Nigerian coast in the area of the Brass port in the Bayelsa state were released on February 25,” the ministry said.

“The (released hostages) include chief mate, Russian citizen Andrei Novikov, three Ukrainian citizens and two Indian citizens,” it said.

“All the released hostages are all right. They will return home soon,” the ministry reported.
