Svoboda Association leader Oleh Tiahnybok

Svoboda Association leader Oleh Tiahnybok has submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC) the documents required for his registration as a presidential candidate, the commission's press service has told Interfax-Ukraine. Tiahnybok was nominated for president at a congress of the association.

The commission had registered seven presidential candidates as of 1800 on Tuesday. The commission is currently considering the documents of a further four candidates, including incumbent President Viktor Yuschenko and Regions Party leader Viktor Yanukovych.

Tiahnybok brings discredit to Ukrainian patriotism. His xenophobic diatribes are an embarassment to Ukrainians everywhere. There is no room for hate speech in modern, free, and independent Ukraine.

Only hate speech in Ukraine comes from its northern neighbor.

True Ukrainian patriots are not anti-Semites. You can see his speech on Hoverla on youtube. Do you hate Jews? How can you support this candidate?

"At the end of the program the studio audience, which Shuster made great pains to point out was a true cross-section of Ukraine's adult population, were asked: "Which one of the speakers was the most convincing". Top came Hrytsenko - 37%. Second came Tyahnybok - 30%. Bohoslovska 14%. The PoR representatives, perhaps the best they've got, scored 11%".......Hmmm, 1 out of 3 weren't embarrased. You must be in that last 11%

He did not use inflamatory language on the Savik Schuster program. He was on his best behavior for the TV show. In his speaches elsewhere he has been filmed saying anti-Semitic things like in the Hoverla speach. That is why he was removed from Our Ukraine party because he turns off normal Ukrainians. I believe in our people and I know that his far right fringe of support will remain exactly that.

I guess thats why he garnered 30% of the vote in the Ternopil regional elections and embarassed the hell out of Byut and Tymoshenko? Perhaps thats why people like you are afraid of him.

He's not Anti-Semite, he's pro Ukrainian. You need a translator.

In his speech to UPA vets on Hoverla mountain, he praised fighting against nechystiu (filth) including Jews. It is clearly understandable to anyone that speaks Ukrainian - and most certainly anti-Semitic. My advice - find another patriotic candidate because Tiahnybok is a liability that makes Ukrainians look very bad.

Great just what we need another wannabe, he should be good for 1-1.5 percent of the vote, at least his candidacy will wake up the Jewish vote against him. Maybe after the election we will have Svoboda from him.

This swine doesn't even speak good Ukrainian. He is on a special program to discredit real Ukrainian nationalists.

He belongs in the same category as Yatseniuk and Yushchenko, both support his right wing views. Yatseniuk supports recognition of UPA thugery and Anti Semitism.

Look, at Svoboda rallies with Tiahnybok you find UNSO skinheads. Is this the kind of people you want to be associated with?
