Presidential candidate Sergey Tigipko has said he supports the legalization of prostitution in Ukraine. "I would support this. Actually we should not be hypocrites. If certain things exist we should speak about them openly and resolve [problems] if necessary," he said during an Internet chat on the Korrespondent Web site on Nov. 27.

"Today we say that we have free medicine, although everybody pays for its, we say that we have free education, although everybody pays for it. That's why we should be honest with ourselves and it will be easier to live," Tigipko said.

While I emphasize with those who have to choose this career, I agree with Tigipko. Prostitution never gets removed, so why not legalize it, tax it and control it...taking it out of the hands of the mafia.

And what kind of morals do you CLAIM to possess? Dissimulation, denial and hypocrisy as the moral highground?

Most of humanity's horrors came from people coming from nowhere opinionating about what other people should do with their asses.

In Ukraine, the Government and the Mafia is one and the same thing.

In other countries the Mafia is the competition to the Government ;)

Either way, if the country cared for its citizens, funding for social programs, job creation, etc would curtail most women from having to make that choice.

Legaliasation is the best means of control and management. But it is not a vote winner. Tigipko will not be elected. He is one percentage point above Yushchenko and both will lose. He is a opportunist technical candidate who role is to take votes away from other candidates in the first round. There are only two main candidates "Tymoshenko and Yanukovych" all the rest are pissing in thew wind.
