Tigipko supports legalization of prostitution in Ukraine

Presidential candidate Sergey Tigipko has said he supports the legalization of prostitution in Ukraine. "I would support this. Actually we should not be hypocrites. If certain things exist we should speak about them openly and resolve [problems] if necessary," he said during an Internet chat on the Korrespondent Web site on Nov. 27.

"Today we say that we have free medicine, although everybody pays for its, we say that we have free education, although everybody pays for it. That's why we should be honest with ourselves and it will be easier to live," Tigipko said.
The Kyiv Post is disabling its online comment section due to an increase in trolls, violent comments and other personal attacks. Other news organizations worldwide have taken similar steps for the same reasons. The Kyiv Post regrets having to take this action. The newspaper believes in a robust public debate, but the discussion must be constructive and intelligent. For the time being, the Kyiv Post will allow comments on its moderated Facebook group The newspaper will consider hosting online comments again when circumstances allow.
