Trade between Russia and Ukraine will reach $35 billion by the end of 2010, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said.

"Our trade has risen by a half in the first four months since the start of the year, we are steadily heading towards a figure beyond $35 billion for this year," he said at a meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev

"Hopefully, we will give a very good impetus to businessmen tomorrow," he added, speaking about the upcoming meeting between the presidents of the two countries and business circles. The political leaders of Russia and Ukraine "are strong enough to remove administrative barriers," Yanukovych said.

Our relationship has been perceived positively by both Russians and Ukrainians recently, he said. "People have long waited for the countries to remove the incomprehensible tone in their relations," he said.
