You're reading: Transport Ministry: EU, US sanctions won’t affect maintenance of foreign-made aircraft

The Transportation Ministry said Western sanctions against Russia over Crimea will have no effect on maintenance of foreign-built aircraft.

“These foreign companies have signed long-term aircraft servicing
contracts with foreign manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus. The
supplying countries are very interested precisely in those long-term
contracts, and their implementation. They are no less interested in them
than the Russian side,” Deputy Transportation Minister Sergei Aristov said in a response to a senator
concerned over how sanctions imposed by the EU and U.S. might affect
flight safety on foreign-built aircraft.
