Four servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who were captured in Crimea are being released, Acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov has reported.

“Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Navy General Major Ihor
Voronchenko, Colonel Yuliy Mamchur, battalion commander
Lieutenant-Colonel Dmytro Deliatytsky, and his deputy Major Rostyslav
Lomtyev were detained. I want to assure you that thanks to the measures
we have taken they are at this moment being set free, and I hope that as
soon as tomorrow we’ll see them in Kyiv,” he said a briefing in Kyiv on
Wednesday.

Turchynov added that “these officers, who were so brave, will
certainly be awarded for their courage and resoluteness, and promoted.”

He also said that the government would leave no officer or soldier without protection.

As earlier reported, Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Leonid
Poliakov has reported that the ministry has reports that six Ukrainians
were being held captive in Crimea.
