You're reading: Turchynov reshuffles governors of Zaporizhia and Chernihiv regions

Acting president of Ukraine and Verkhovna Rada Chairman, Oleksandr Turchynov, has dismissed Oleksandr Peklushenko from the post of head of Zaporizhia Regional State Administration and appointed Valeriy Baranov to hold this post.

Besides, the acting president appointed Volodymyr Ivashko as the new head of Chernihiv regional state administration, replacing Volodymyr Khomenko.

The corresponding orders were posted on the Web site of Ukraine’s president.

Baranov was born in the town of Berdiansk of Zaporizhia region on Apr. 19, 1957. He is a Ukrainian politician, and an MP of Ukraine of the sixth convocation from 2007 until 2014.

Ivasko was born on Mar. 21, 1965. He was elected as a deputy of Chernihiv regional council from the Batkivschyna party organization in Chernihiv.
