You're reading: Turchynov says Kyiv knows names of high rank officers in charge of Russian troops in Donbas

"The commander of the Russian occupation forces in Donbas is Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov," said Oleksandr Turchynov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on Aug.27.

“Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov is responsible for the command of the Russian occupation forces. He’s a chief of the general command, and first deputy commander of the South military region with the nom de guerre Sedov,” Turchynov said in a statement of NSDC published on Aug.27.

He also named the following Russian soldiers as involved in Donbas conflict: Major General Alexei Zavizen with the nom de guerre Pilen, Major General Yevgeny Nikiforov with the nom de guerre Morgun, and Lieutenant General Sergey Yudin.

“I want to once again point out that we’re opposed by actual detachments of the Russian Armed Forces,” Turchynov added.
