The lawyers of the TVi Channel (the TeleRadioSvit Company) on Monday appealed to the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine against a ruling by Kyiv Administrative Court of Appeals as of Aug. 30 on the deprivation of some of the TV channel's frequencies, the press service of the TVi has reported.

"TVi in the appeal asks the court to cancel the ruling by the court of appeals and send the case for judicial review in the court of first instance," reads the report.

The TVi said the court under its ruling "practically left the TV channel without the possibility to broadcast not only on the frequencies issued under the ruling of January 27, 2010, but also other frequencies issued under other decisions that were not appealed on in this case."

The TV channel also said that "the court assumed the rights of plaintiffs and independently changed their statements of appeal."

As reported, on August 30, Kyiv Appeal Administrative Court declared unlawful and canceled a decision dated January 27, 2010 of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting to assign additional frequencies to TVi Channel and Channel 5.
