A total of 22 countries have decided to assist Ukraine in fighting its flu epidemic, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Valeriy Dzhyhun said at a briefing in Kyiv on Nov. 17.

"According to the results of the measures taken by the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine on the attraction of humanitarian aid from foreign states, on November 9-13 another eight countries decided to render humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Thus, the number of these states totaled 22 as of Nov. 14," he said.

Dzhyhun said that cargoes of humanitarian aid had been delivered to Ukraine from the governments of seven states and the administrations of six provinces and 17 cities of Poland, one region and a city of the Czech Republic, one region of Slovakia, the International Movements of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church, the Romanian Orthodox Church, and the Armed Forces of Sweden.

Moreover, Ukraine received humanitarian aid from public and charitable organizations from the United States, Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, the honorary consuls of Ukraine in Poland, Hungary and Sweden, one entrepreneurship organization in Romania, a youth organization from Russia and the Orthodox Church in the Czech Republic.
