An exchange of fire between participants in the anti-terrorist operation and pro-Russian activists took place in the area of the Kramatorsk airport, Donetsk region, on Monday morning, April 28, Dmytro Tymchuk, a journalist and coordinator of the group Information Resistance, has reported.

“The night went calmly in the area of the anti-terrorist operation. The only exception was the shots fired in the direction of our troops in the area of the Kramatorsk airport. In the morning, law enforcement agencies came under fire here again,” he said on Facebook on Monday morning.

Several shots were fired in the direction of the law enforcement officials with grenade launchers, and they returned fire, he said.

A security officer sustained a minor injury, and a Ukrainian Interior Ministry’s Internal Troops serviceman has also been injured, Tymchuk said, adding he has no information on casualties on the other side.

“The shooting was carried out from a village near the airfield,” the shooters “managed to escape before the arrival of a mobile group of law enforcers there,” he said.

Tymchuk also said security has been tightened at the checkpoints organized by supporters of the federalization of Ukraine and they are now equipped with grenade launchers.
