You're reading: Two LifeNews journalists detained in Donetsk

LifeNews journalists Yulia Pustoplesnova and Mikhail Pudovkin have been detained by unknown individuals in Donetsk, LifeNews reported on its website on Friday.

“Federalization supporters said the journalists were attacked by
thirty masked people when they were going to record an interview with an
activist called Topaz,” the report says.

“The Donetsk Interior Ministry currently has no information on the incident,” LifeNews reported.

“Federalization supporters are saying that Ukrainian Security Council
officials and Ukrainian military are behind this,” the report says.

LifeNews reporter Kristina Babayeva went missing in Mariupol on April 17 following a shootout near a Ukrainian military unit.

“Our journalists worked on the site. LifeNews witnessed a random
shooting by the military. When the journalists tried to come closer to
the unit in the company of the militia, shots were fired again in the
darkness. LifeNews correspondent Kristina Babayeva has been out of
contact for several hours now and her phone is out of the coverage
zone,” the television channel reported.

LifeNews later reported that Babayeva had been found in a police station and had been released.
