Two Ukrainian servicemen have been killed and another 14 have been injured in the anti-terrorist operation zone in the country's eastern regions over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian presidential administration spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said.

“Two of our soldiers have been killed and another 14 have sustained injuries of varying degrees of gravity as a result of fighting in the past 24 hours. This has happened primarily in Donetsk region,” he said at a press briefing in Kyiv on August 1.

Earlier the same day, the press service of the Kyiv-appointed military-civilian administration of Luhansk region reported that two Ukrainian servicemen were injured when the town of Zolote-4 in Luhansk region came under mortar fire,

As for Stanytsia Luhanska, a long-time flashpoint in the conflict, it has seen a relative lull for the first time over quite a long period of time, it said.

“There has been a minor instance of mortar and automatic weapon shelling. As a result, a deserted house was hit. But its owners had gone away a long time before. The gas and power supply systems are functioning normally,” the press service said, describing the situation in Stanytsia Luhanska.
