Kharkiv - Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who went on a hunger strike in order to demand the Ukraine-EU association, has been consuming nothing but water for the past two days, Tymoshenko's daughter Yevhenia said.

“She is on a hunger strike and has been drinking water for two days… She thinks that the events underway on Maidan [the Square] are the most important, and the hunger strike is all she could do to express her solidarity with Maidan,” Eugenia Tymoshenko said after visiting her mother at the Kharkiv 5th Clinical Hospital on Tuesday.

She added that the former prime minister was keeping her head up.

“She is very strong morally as always,” Yevhenia Tymoshenko said.
