Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland have discussed at a meeting the implementation of the Minsk agreements and other issues, the press service of the Batkivschyna Party reported on Oct. 7.

The sides also discussed a wide range of issues in the sphere of security, economy and politics, paying special attention to problems in the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

Tymoshenko and Nuland alos discussed anti-corruption reform. In this regard, the sides stressed the need to adopt anti-corruption laws and the law on prosecutor’s office in the near future.

They separately discussed the issue of illegal detention in Russia of Ukrainian female pilot Nadia Savchenko and noted the need for joint efforts for her release.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the Batkivschyna Party Hryhoriy Nemyria, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Borys Tarasiuk, MP Serhiy Vlasenko, Senior Director for European Affairs at the U.S. National Security Council Charles Kupchan and Director for Russia at the U.S. National Security Council Anna Makanju.
