Leader of Batkivschyna all-Ukrainian union Yulia Tymoshenko has noted that Ukraine needed to realize a comprehensive plan to allow the country to stop Russia's aggression.

“We must have our own plan consisting of five steps. Step one. We must significantly increase our defense. And we can win and oppose,” Tymoshenko’s press service quoted her statement on Inter TV channel.

According to Batkivschyna leader, Ukraine must increase its diplomatic representation in European countries and the United States.

“Today, a very powerful Russian lobby is operating there, and they’re destroying the way to Europe for us… And there haven’t been [Ukrainian] ambassadors appointed to Germany, France, England and 20 more countries for four months,” Tymoshenko said.

“Three. Switch to negotiations with Russia from the position of power. And this means U.S.-Europe-Russia-Ukraine instead of [the so-called] Donetsk and Luhansk republics signing protocols in the presence of [Russian diplomat Mikhail] Zurabov,” she said.

Tymoshenko also said there was a need to develop a special information policy system in EU and other key countries of the world.

“It must be done immediately,” she said.

“And last. The position of supreme commander must be created at once. This means that the president must take all the system of governing the state in his hands; use all the life systems for the defense, including complete rebuilding of the defense industry; become the one to manage everything, instead of all the chaos of today,” Batkivschyna leader said.

“[We] need to act instead of believing these memorandums that [Russian president Vladimir] Putin creates to simply take away our weapons so that we can’t act. Victory isn’t asked for, it’s won. Reforms can be introduced even under difficult conditions of military aggression. Unfortunately it’s not being done today,” Tymoshenko said.
