Kyiv, October 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine will gain membership of the European Union, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said in her election program entitled “Ukraine Will Win. Ukraine is You.”

“I believe that we can reach the level of European standards in such issues as democracy, human rights, living conditions, and political culture. After we build Europe in Ukraine, Ukraine will become a member of the European Union,” reads the document.

“Ukraine’s relations with all countries will be pragmatically built on the basis of national interests, and a significant increase in the country’s competitiveness at the global arena will be a priority,” Tymoshenko said.

“Friendly relations with Russia and other CIS countries will be based on the potential of current cooperation and mutually beneficial economic cooperation,” reads the program.

Tymoshenko said that if she wins presidential elections, the question of Ukraine’s joining any system of collective security would “be resolved only at a referendum.”

The Batkivschyna Party, which nominated Tymoshenko for president, is an observer member of the European People’s Party.
