Leader of the Batkivschyna party Yulia Tymoshenko said she congratulated Petro Poroshenko with winning the presidential elections.
“Ukrainians have made their choice and I respect it. I welcome the
new president’s victory in the elections. People have given him trust,
which should be justified, and the new leader of the state has every
opportunity and authority for this,” Batkivschyna press office quoted
Tymoshenko as saying on Thursday.
The country is in a difficult situation and it is unreasonable to
escalate it with political resistance now, Tymoshenko said. “So for the
sake of peace and for the sake of implementing Maidan ideals, my team is
ready to help the new Ukrainian president,” she said.
At the same time, Batkivschyna intends to closely control actions of the new presidential team, Tymoshenko said.
“So, inspiration, good luck and successful work to the new authorities!,” she said.
