The ward in the central clinical hospital No. 5 in the city of Kharkiv, where Ukrainian former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is kept, was equipped with a fan to improve living conditions, the State Penitentiary Service said in a statement.

“Taking into account the fact that there is air conditioning in the convict’s ward and possible negative influence from using it, authorities of the Kachanivska penal colony in accordance with the hospital authorities have decided to bring a fan,” the statement said.

“Authorities of the hospital or correction facilities have not received any other requests related to improving the living conditions in Y. Tymoshenko’s ward,” the penitentiary service said.
