A visiting UEFA delegation carrying out inspections in Ukraine has noted the rapid pace of the country's preparations for hosting the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, and has called for this pace to be maintained.

"Ukraine now needs to keep up the pace that it has achieved. If so, the preparations will be successful," Executive Director of UEFA Events SA David Taylor said at a press conference in Kyiv, Ukraine-2012 Information Center said on Tuesday.

"We’re aware that there may be difficulties. If you recall, things were rather difficult during the early stages. We’ve gone through a difficult period, when there were problems related to the recession in the economy caused by the global crisis. But now the situation has resumed its normal course. We need the support of the government to improve infrastructure," he said.
