Kyiv City Council will consider a draft decision on the organization of free transport for fans with tickets for matches, accredited mass media, volunteers and UEFA personnel during Euro 2012.

As the press service of Kyiv City State Administration reported, UEFA is obliged to pay for free transport worth a total of EUR 360,000.
To organize the free transport, Kyiv City Council will provide Kyivpastrans and Kyiv Metropolitan municipal enterprises the right to conclude tripartite agreements on free transport in the host city with UEFA.

According to the draft decision, fans with tickets for matches can use public transport (except for taxi buses) in the host cities free of charge within 24 hours of the match and up to 1200 on the next day. UEFA staff and representatives of the mass media may use public transport in host cities free of charge during the term of the validity of their accreditation.

Such schemes of transport were already used during previous large football competitions – the World Cup in Germany in 2006 and the European Championship in Austria and Switzerland in 2008.
